To My First Born

Whether you are a girl or a boy, I am happy to call you my child. I often thought about motherhood and how good of a mother I’d be. To love you unconditionally and raise you into the best person you can be. I want you to have all the things I never had. I want you to express yourself how ever you feel. To remain happy in your choices and live with no regrets. As your mother, I will protect you no matter wrong on right. Read bedtime stories until you say you’re too old for them and that I’m being annoying. To listen to your cries and hear your fears, I will always try my best to be there. I hope you never come to hate me, because nothing is worse than having your own child hate you. I want the best for you and I hope you’re doing your best. Mommy is 18 going 35 writing this, but I don’t know who you’ll be. I’m not sure if your name or where you were born, all I know is that you’re my child. A child I’ve dreamt of my whole life: an angel of God.
